3rd Annual Winds at the Winery Community Band Festival

Winds at the Winery - Community Band FestivalWe are pleased to present the third annual Winds at the Winery Community Band Festival! Spend a summer afternoon at the winery and enjoy several local community bands.

This year up to 15 arts and crafts vendors will be provided space to exhibit and sell their products. If you are interested in being a vendor, please download this form for details and to register.

Food and Wine* will be available for purchase throughout the event. Performances by Take Five Brass Quintet, Gem City Brass, Cortland Community Band, Ashtabula Brass Band, Youngstown Area Community Concert Band, Canfield Community Concert Band, and Austintown Fitch Alumni Jazz Band will take place throughout the afternoon, starting at 1.

There will be a 50/50 drawing, a raffle, and donations will be accepted, all to benefit Angels for Animals in support of their Angel Wing capital campaign.

Raffle tickets will be sold throughout the event for $1 each. CCCB members will be selling them in advance of the event as well. The drawing will occur just before the final band's performance. First prize is a set of 4 Tickets to Cedar Point + a $75 Gas Card, second prize is $150 Cash, and third prize is a $75 Target Gift Card. Winner does not need to be present.

Wine and beer will be available for purchase from the winery and food and snacks will be available from food trucks and the winery. You may bring your own food, however Ohio law prohibits anyone from bringing alcoholic beverages onto Winery property. Picnic tables and chairs will be available on a first come first serve basis, but you are welcome to bring lawn chairs or blankets and sit on the lawn.

About the Ensembles

Take 5 Brass Quintet

Take 5 is a brass quintet comprised of individuals from the Mahoning Valley. The group performs for a variety of events ranging from church services to outdoor festivals throughout the area. Their repertoire includes classical music, jazz standards, popular tunes, and patriotic favorites.

Gem City Brass

Gem City Brass originated as a small group ensemble from the Toronto, Ohio (known as Gem City) Community Band. They play a wide variety of music styles ranging from Baroque to Jazz and play at many types of venues and community functions throughout the tri-state area. Find out more about them on Facebook.

Cortland Community Band

The Cortland Community Band was formed in 1983 and currently has about 60 members led by director Craig Wiencek. The band performs throughout the year for events in Cortland, OH and nearby communities, entertaining audiences with a repertoire that includes Big Band, Broadway, Classical, March, Patriotic, Popular, and seasonal favorites. Ashtabula Brass Band

This band is based on the style of the traditional British brass band. They play several concerts a year in the Ashtabula area. They play all types of music, from classical to pop and are directed by Bo Violette. Find them on Facebook @AshtabulaBrassBand or on Twitter @ashtabula_brass.

Youngstown Area Community Concert Band

The YACCB was founded in 1983, and is directed by Joseph Pellegrini. The 60+ member band performs 14-18 concerts a year throughout eastern Ohio and western Pennsylvania. Austintown-Fitch Alumni Jazz Band

The Alumni Jazz Band was formed in 2015 to help promote and support jazz education in the Austintown Local Schools. Their Jazz and Dessert concert every January helps to benefit the jazz bands at the middle and high school level. The band is directed by Austintown-Fitch principal, Marc Pupino.

Canfield Community Concert Band

The CCCB was founded in 1976 and is directed by Eric Bable. In addition to performing at outdoor venues during the summer, the band performs year-round including a major concert in the spring. Summer highlights include performing on the historic Canfield Green, the Canfield Fair, and hosting "Winds at the Winery."
