Austintown Park Concert

To the Members of CCCB:

Due to Covid-19, our scheduled concerts at area retirement homes have been canceled, as well as “Winds at the Winery” Community Band Festival. However, there is one concert on Tuesday, June 30, at Austintown Township Park that we, the Board members of CCCB, believe can be presented in a safe and entertaining manner. Safety is our first concern so it is impossible to have the entire band perform together on stage, and follow social distance guidelines. However, it is possible to have band members perform solos or small ensembles on stage safely.

If you would like to perform a solo, please let Alice know, by responding to the Remind text, by June 5th. If you are not on Remind, check in with your call chain volunteer to relay the message. If enough members volunteer, we will be able to present a showcase performance of everyone’s amazing talents. Musical selections can include hymn or folk tunes, pop and show tunes, light classic and patriotic. We will plan on having a keyboard accompanist available, as well as our sound system.

This is purely voluntary and as a band, we will follow all the safety guidelines in place. Hope to hear from you soon!

Important Schedule Changes Due To COVID-19 Restrictions

We regret that due to the coronavirus outbreak we must cancel our upcoming rehearsals and performances. Rehearsals for the remainder of March have been canceled and our two performances scheduled for April are canceled as well. Our April 19th formal concert will be postponed until a later date, which will be determined after our rehearsals can begin again.

We will evaluate the plan for the reheasal schedule at the end of the month based on guidance issued at that time by Governor DeWine and state and local health officials.
