We are all saddened by the passing of long-time Canfield Community Concert Band member Jim Ramsey. Jim was a member of our Trumpet section for many years until 2019. He was a blessing to our band and a true life-long lover of music, spending his retirement making music with us after his career as a music teacher in the Youngstown school system. He was always eager to greet and welcome new members. We will miss his cheerful enthusiasm. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family.

The Three Rivers Community Band Festival is back this year on Saturday, March 25, 2023! Our band was the guest band at this festival in 2019 and several of our members have played in the Festival Band in recent years. The Festival Band is made up of players from community bands around the region and lead by a guest conductor. Participation in the Festival Band is open to all without audition and is intended to bring together musicians from a wide variety of community ensembles.
The guest conductor of the Festival Band this year will be James Gourlay, Artistic and General Director of the River City Brass. He was the guest conductor in 2012 and was scheduled again for the festival in 2020 that was postponed because of COVID. Anyone interested in participating in the festival band must register by Feb 7th and pay a fee of $35, which covers operational and music costs. There is an additional fee for lunch. Participants must attend a morning rehearsal on the day of the festival. Complete details and the registration form are available here.
