There will be no rehearsal on December 23 and December 30. We will be back to regular weekly rehearsals in January to prepare for our formal concert, which is on the schedule for March 22. We all know how uncooperative the weather in January can be with our rehearsal schedule. Please plan to attend rehearsals, but if we have to cancel, you will be notified via the contact chain and I'll post adjustments to the schedule to the website as soon as I learn of them. If you're not on the contact list, be sure to check the website for last minute schedule changes and contact Ken Cooley to update your contact information.
Although we've finished our Christmas program, you may be interested in an upcoming concert presented by the YSR Brass Band. Our director Eric Bable will lead this brass band in a Christmas concert on Monday, December 22 at 7pm at the Crestview Local School District Performing Arts Center. A free will donation will be collected, along with a 50/50 raffle and Chinese auction. The proceeds will benefit the Crestview Local School District Music Booster Organization. Come for an evening of Christmas music performed by students and alumni of Slippery Rock University, Youngstown State University, Miami University, and Kent State University.

Eric Bable has recently been named the conductor of the Canfield Community Concert Band. He holds a Master of Music Degree in Conducting/Euphonium Performance from Youngstown State University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from Slippery Rock University in Pennsylvania.
Mr. Bable looks forward to continuing the musical tradition of the Canfield Community Band, which was started in 1976. "I'm proud to follow in the footsteps of a talented group of conductors who have led this community band, and I encourage area musicians to come and join us."
